“But all worthy things that are in peril as the world now stands, these are my care.”
Okay… for those that recognize the above quotes, it may be starting to get a bit silly. They are from The Lord of the Rings, as the wizard Gandalf speaks to the Steward of Gondor. At first it may seem that he is saying “I am a steward, just as you are.” But there is another way to take his meaning: “Beyond what you know me as, in addition I am also a steward.” This is such a powerful mindset. I am a chef, and also a steward. I am a New Yorker, and also a steward. I am a mother, and also a steward. This is something we all can say… we all should say… we all must say.
Our Mission
There are so many ways that anyone can be a steward of our planet. We are focused on one of easiest which can also have the biggest impact (and selfishly, one of the nearest and dearest to our heart): planting native plants in your yards and balconies. This is such a simple, effective, and necessary means to restore strength to our ecosystems in a lasting way. Curious about the details? Click here to learn more.
Our Method
Germinate the seeds ourselves. Give the trees to you, for free. Help you plant them, for free (if you want). Help you protect them, for free (if you want). And if you wish, we can also help you choose the right tree for your spot (for free!)
